NINTH EDITION: UNANIMOUS
Under the direction of Victoria Noorthoorn, the ninth edition of the Premio arteBA-Petrobras de Artes Visuales brought together Argentine artists from all disciplines to explore the possibilities of collaboration and experimentation, generating unprecedented projects stemming from a dialogue between three or more artists collaborating together for the first time. In accordance with this, a Selection Committee of intellectual and creative minds was chosen, and challenged to come to a unanimous decision on three projects.
Out of the 150 proposals received, only three will be given a budget of $20,000 pesos for the production and installation of their project in arteBA 2012, taking place from the 18th to the 22nd of May in La Rural. Once exhibited in the fair, another jury will award one project the prize of AR$50,000 (Argentine pesos).
The Selection Committee was made up of visual artists Fernanda Laguna and Patricio Larrambebere, writer and critic Maria Gainza, writer and scholar Ana Longoni, independent curator Javier Villa, writer Ruben Mira, and the theatrical directors and playwrights Emilio Garcia Wehbi, Mariana Obersztern, and Rafael Apregelburd.
The three projects chosen by the committee are the following:
POP UP CARTOON, presented by Emiliana Arias, Cecilia Lenardon, Silvia Lenardon, Guillermo MArtinez, Renata Minoldo, Sebastián Roses, and Luciano Schillagi.
SPLATTER MORFOGENETICO / ARLT MASCHINE presented by Silvina Aguirre, Laura Bilbao, Roberto Conlazo, and Luis Lindner.
LA MULTISECTORIAL INVISIBLE presented by Gustavo Moliner, Ana Gallardo, Lola Granillo, Guillermina Mongan, Mariela Scafati, and Elisa Strada.
