Arcos Dorados Contest + Solo Show of Latin American painting

IOSU ARAMBURU WAS THE WINNER OF THE ARCOS DORADOS LATIN AMERICAN PAINITNG CONTEST

For the third consecutive year, Arcos Dorados joined arteBA in supporting Latin American artistic production. The company is committed to offering a platform for exhibition of the region’s contemporary art production. arteBA increased its outreach with the inauguration of the Solo Show section at the Arcos Dorados Latin American Painting Contest with the participation of those galleries representing each artist. Pablo León de la Barra (Mexican freelance curator, critic, researcher and editor) was responsible for selecting five young artists from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela for this new format. The young talents competed with one work of art each, for the Prize of US$ 15,000, and at the same time participated with their respective galleries in the new Latin American Painting Solo Show section, where the galleries displayed their most current production. The public voted for their favorite work of art, among the five competing paintings. The winner was defined by the votes of a jury, composed of gallery owner Eduardo Brandão (Vermelho Gallery); Ana María Battistozzi, art critic; Esteban Tedesco, art collector; an Arcos Dorados representative and the public, and the first prize of US$ 15,000 was awarded to IOSU ARAMBURU, Peruvian artist (80m2 Arte & Debates gallery, Peru). Aramburu’s work is now part of Arcos Dorados Collection. The artists and galleries invited to this third edition of the contest were:

CHRISTIAN VINCK (VENEZUELA) – Oficina #1/Carmenaraujo Arte (Venezuela)
