The good weather and overall mood of an intense week dedicated to contemporary art accompanied this weekend for the second edition of arteBA Focus / Distrito de las Artes, an increasingly fresh and attractive event.

During the weekend of November 4 and 5, the second edition of arteBA Focus was held in collaboration with the Buenos Aires City Government, receiving over twenty thousand people who gathered at the Distrito de las Artes industrial complex to discover a new proposal involving works by 68 artists from 31 Argentinean galleries on display throughout 1600 m2. Curators Florencia Battiti and Sebastián Vidal Mackinson committed to a dialog between the modern and the contemporary by way of high quality works in diverse formats. At the same time, artist Alan Segal ventured a selection of five video pieces, the majority of which were shown for the first time and some that were created specially for arteBA Focus.

The excellent level of the works on display attracted the interest of a broad spectrum of public in ample numbers who were surprised by the exhibition format and architectural design, handled by Ariel Jacubovich. Sunny late afternoons were accompanied by the music of Radio Blue’s DJ set series and the launch of arteBA Revista issue #4. During La Noche de los Museos, a surprise performance presented jointly by the Bienal de Performance and Arte x Arte sprung up, with fifty opera singers infiltrated among the attending public who created great impact with a choral interpretation of La Traviata.

In addition to the success of such high attendance, good sales results were also enjoyed thanks to the presence of numerous collectors and arts professionals who arrived from different parts of the country and the world in conjunction with the activities organized by the arteBA Focus VIP Program and a retinue in connection with Art Basel Cities: Buenos Aires.
