At the 26th edition of arteBA, set to take place this year from May 24 to 27 at La Rural, the Dixit section, curated by Sarah Demeuse and Javier Villa will be titled rro, and it will focus on the future from the standpoint of “…a visceral and intensified need to be in the present”.

“rro is an onomatopoeia for the word raw, but it is also a visual symbol representing a person on all fours, touching the ground with hands and feet. rro is the result of a conversation between two people, a method for continuing to think with artists and to be in a radically vivid present.”

“rro is action and exhibition. It enables connections with broader, more disperse publics who want to be connected. It occurs both inside the arteBA venue (La Rural) and outside, in the city of Buenos Aires. rro becomes visible at different times: before, during and after the art fair. The exhibition proposition insists on a succinct selection to counter-arrest the visual overdose found in the micro-context of the Fair, and it exists with close conceptual and emotional ties to actions outside La Rural. rro emerges from the aggregate between that inside and that outside. “A first approximation to the proposal took place last Tuesday, when the curators invited Dixit artists and gallery owners via whatsapp to a walk-through of the preliminary ideas for the curatorial project along with Osías Yanov, Eduardo Navarro, Sofía Bohtlingk and Juane Odriozola, as an experimental trial run.
