This section consists of established galleries chosen by an independent selection committee pursuant to review their applications.

This new category will group together a maximum of 10 young galleries in stands of up to 40 m2. Galleries having opened less than 5 years ago, representing young artists and participating in arteBA for the first time may apply, as may those that come from the Barrio Joven section. These proposals will be evaluated by the same selection committee as the Main Section.


Cabinet is a specific area within the galleries’ booths in the Main Section of the fair. In Cabinet, one or more works by a single artist are exhibited. The aim of the section is to show emblematic works by modern and contemporary artists. A consulting committee determines the selection.

A curator invites galleries to present a specific project featuring up to three artists.


Magalí Arriola (independent curator, Mexico City).


A curator invites Latin American artists and the galleries representing them to take part through individual exhibitions.


José Luis Blondet (Curator of Special Projects at LACMA, Los Angeles).


The participants are new, innovative or alternative spaces representing young emerging artists. They are chosen by an independent curatorial team.

Section dedicated to performances with live artists and a video selection presented with the support of Arte x Arte in collaboration with the Performance Biennial.


With the coordination of a curatorial team, the publications section of the fair includes: 6 international guest editorial projects; a book shop space specializing in contemporary art and a group table with independent productions. In addition, Isla de Ediciones has its own auditorium with a full program of talks, master classes, book presentations and actions that link art practice to editorial practice.
