Participants will include: María Amalia García – author, art historian and specialist in Argentine art movement of the 1940s and ‘50s; Andrea Giunta – Writer and researcher; and Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro – Director of the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection.

This occasion will present the new interactive device on art and history for young people that will be distributed for free in schools around the country. It has been developed by specialists, within the framework of the Foundation’s program.

Arcos Dorados (Golden Arches) presents a discussion: “The role of independent spaces and spaces managed by artists in contexts lacking solid institutional settings.” Participants: Tamara Díaz Bringas  (freelance curator, living in Barcelona and San José de Costa Rica), Julieta González (Venezuelan, Associate Curator of Latin American art, Tate Modern, London, England and freelance curator), Rodrigo Quijano (freelance curator, connected with the former art space “La Culpable,” Lima, Peru) and Marianne Ramírez Aponte (Executive Director, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico). Ediciones Larivière presents the book Siqueiros: muralismo, cine y revolución (Siqueiros: Mural-Painting, Film and Revolution) by Ana Martínez Quijano. The text analyzes the relation between painting and cinema in Ejercicio plástico, a work with characteristics of the 21st century made in 1933. Participants: publisher Jean-Louis Larivière, art critic, writer, and curator Beatriz Vignoli, gallery dealer, curator, and instructor Florencia Braga Menéndez, in conversation with the author.

Presentation of the book Fotografía en la Argentina 1840 – 2010, ediciones Arte x Arte, of the Alfonso y Luz Castillo Foundation. Presenting will be the book’s author, Valeria González, who will show a synthesis of the book, accompanied by images.
